Participation Policy

In the best interest of all the students, and to ensure a quality ensemble, NCMEA maintains a strict participation policy. Students must be in attendance to all rehearsals. Students must sign a participation contract which states that they will observe the attendance requirement, be punctual, positively represent themselves and their school, maintain proper rehearsal etiquette, and show respect to the facilities of the hosting school. Students who are in violation of any NCMEA regulations are subject to removal from the festival and may not be invited to future NCMEA activities.

Seating Auditions

Students may be required to participate in seating auditions for placement within their section. Seating will be determined based upon a student's preparation of the festival music. All decisions of the seating judge(s) are final.

Concert Dress

Concert dress for every All-County group is black from "hip to heels" and white on top. Ladies should wear a long black dress, skirt, or pants with black tights or socks covering any exposed skin. Dress attire includes black dress shoes. No sandals, sneakers, elaborate jewelry, or headwear please! Gentlemen should wear long black dress pants with black socks, black shoes, white shirt and long dark tie.

Ticket Information

All tickets are $6. Students are provided with a ticket order envelope in their all-county packets. We highly recommend that parents pre-order tickets using these envelopes. Students will be given the tickets to bring home after Friday's rehearsal. This will help to keep the ticket line as short as possible on the day of the performance.

Inclement Weather or Cancellation

In the event of inclement weather or other emergency which forces a festival to be cancelled, notification will be posted through radio and tv broadcasts. We regret that a cancelled festival cannot be rescheduled.
